facebook post

I posted this on facebook tonight:

I feel compelled to share this recent experience and you people happen to be listening......maybe.

As is typical of me, I am packing for a trip and I get sidetracked (surprise, surprise). I was looking for a book light in my bed side table, which happened to be my mothers, and I came across a few journals (like mother, like daughter). The journal I picked up and began reading is one from 2004 and 2005 during the worst part of my mom's cancer recurrence and her death on September 26th, 2004 and the aftermath. This journal is full of observations and quotes from Saunders, who was 2.5 years old at the time. There are no words to describe it, except Holy Shit was that kid tuned in to EVERYTHING and the stuff she remembered is incredible. If anything, it demonstrates to us all how pure the young mind is. WOW, was I blown away reading her words.

I am glad I took the time to write it down back then, because god only knows I must have been on autopilot or something. I am thankful now that I accidentally stumbled upon it and took the time to read it.

When I have a few less things on my plate, I will revisit that journal and those pieces of paper paper-clipped into the journal and share them on my blog.
